You can listen to many public radio stations on your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®. Download the free Public Radio Player to your device from the iPhone App Store. Once it is installed, you can use these Allegro! pages to decide on a station to listen to, then listen to the station on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch by locating the station with your Public Radio Player app.

Android devices
You can listen to many public radio stations on your Android device. Explore the Music & Audio applications in Google play (formerly Android Market). Here are two apps that work well for me, in conjunction with the Allegro! Web service, on my Android-based Kindle™ Fire tablet:
- TuneIn Radio: The free version of this app works just fine for this purpose. In your Android device, from this app's main page, touch the hourglass at top right to start the Search function. Type in the call letters of the broadcast service that is broadcasting the program you'd like to hear (for example, "KUSC"), and a link to the service's stream will probably appear. Touch that link, and the audio stream should begin playing. You can also select "By Location", then "North America", then "United States", then the state in which your selected service is located. The broadcast service's call letters will probably appear on the list. Select that broadcast service, and the audio stream should begin playing. Don't know the state in which the broadcast service is located? In Allegro!, navigate to the page that describes the broadcast service that is broadcasting the program you'd like to hear; that page notes the city and state in which that service is located. (Here is an example.)

Station-specific apps
Some radio stations offer their own specialized streaming audio apps for these and other mobile devices.
