Post Ranch and Ventana vicinity

The vicinity of Post Ranch and Ventana is one of several clusters of businesses and services along Highway 1 in the Big Sur River Valley. Post Ranch Inn and Ventana Inn, offering high-end lodging (Ventana also has a campground), occupy opposite sides of Highway 1. The Restaurant at Ventana at the Ventana Inn and Post Ranch Inn's Sierra Mar Restaurant serve lunch and dinner to the public.

I found this location to have one of the strongest cellular phone signals in the Big Sur region. The Coast Ridge Road (no vehicles) affords hiking access eastward from near Ventana Inn into the Ventana Wilderness.
