Carmel Highlands
Carmel Highlands is a small residential and commercial area on the northern Big Sur region coastline. The small store and gasoline station are easy to find. Watch for small signs on the east side of Highway 1 to reach the area's lodging.
The Highlands Inn's Pacific Edge Restaurant serves only dinner; jeans, athletic wear, and similar attire are discouraged. The Inn's California Market Restaurant is casual and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
